Dear NMSDC Stakeholders,
We look forward to welcoming many of you in New Orleans next week for the NMSDC 50th Anniversary Conference and Exchange. We will miss those of you who are not able to attend.
As many of you know, we are in the process of laying the groundwork for our next 50 years as we drive socioeconomic equity and generational wealth in communities of color. I wanted to share an update on our organizational transformation work and what will be happening between now and January.
Over the last few weeks we held alignment meetings with our regional presidents in which we discussed:
- Our refreshed value proposition for NMSDC
- Our services and how they will look in the future
- Implications for our governance model (ways we work together across the network)
- Our roadmap for the future
We have been intentional about seeking feedback and input from our stakeholders including regional presidents, regional board chairs, MBEIC chairs, and others throughout the process.
Heading into November and December we have two meetings with the NMSDC Board of Directors to share back the latest thinking on which we have been seeking input and to recommend changes to support our growth. This will set the foundation for 2023 and our next 50 years! We are committed to sharing with you a summary of those meetings.
Finally, I’m excited to share that in January, we will have a two-day strategy and culture alignment session with the regional presidents, NMSDC executive leadership team, and representative members of the NMDSC Board of Directors. This session will help us align on how our leadership shadow will support the culture we desire to better serve the network and further unite us in our mission.
Concurrent with this work, and in keeping with the needs expressed by all our stakeholders, we are working to address certification modernization and technology enhancements.
- On technology: we are in the final stage of the certification and CRM platform selection process.
- On certification: the Certification Modernization Tiger Team produced sets of recommendations on process improvement, documentation rationalization, and potential criteria and standard revision considerations. These recommendations are being reviewed by the Field Operations Committee in phases for additional feedback and input. Quick wins could be implemented in the coming months.
Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to partnering with you to help our MBEs grow and flourish.
